Oxfordshire County Council – Presentation on the river crossing
Published: 03 September 2019
At the beginning of the July Council meeting, a principal infrastructure planner, Mr. Aron Wisdom, gave a brief presentation in regards to the proposed new river crossing. The County Council, along with the District Councils had looked at a number of options for relieving transport stress points on the highway. Transport modelling had been carried out. The Government’s Housing Improvement Fund had become available, and the County Council, had been successful in securing funding. The District Councils’ Local Plans had included the river crossing, and transport plans were consulted upon in 2018. The County Council was now developing the schemes, not only the river crossing, but other transport improvements for Didcot. Formal and statutory consultation would follow.
The Parish Council stressed that it wished to be included from an early stage, and would not wish to be “consulted” after discussions had been concluded by the County Council.
